You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. You may like to venture out to Thamel for your evening meal, or eat in the hotel restaurant if you are tired from your journey.Overnight Hotel. (Meals: B)Taking an early morning flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu, upon arrival you will be transferred for about an hour to the start of your trek at Kande. As you leave Pokhara you pass by the Tibetan refugee village of Hempja. As you start walking on the stony path you’ll be sharing the path with mule trains and local villagers. The trail gains height as it makes its way in and out of dense forest opening up to the grassy plateau of Australian camp, and have a drink with great views of the mountains. From here it’s on towards Pitam Deurali, your stop for the night. Deurali is a crossroads for the Annapurna base camp trek as well as Machhapuchare trek. Overnight camp.

Your campsite will provide you with stunning vistas back down to the Pokhara valley and up to the mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South with Machhapuchare just hidden by the surrounding hills. The walk today is a bird spotters’ paradise with Humming birds, Barbets and Cuckoo’s filling the trees. As you head back into the jungle and approach Forest camp and Low camp the village of Ghandruk comes into view on the other side of the valley. This town is famous for the Gurkha soldiers that have been recruited from here in the past. As you arrive at the little haven of Forest camp there is time to have Lunch. Overnight camp. (Meals: B,L,D)

After an uphill walk in the morning you will reach the ridge line and stunning viewpoint. From here you follow the ridge line up towards High Camp for the rest of the day, sharing the trail with the local goat herders and their large herds that have worn deep trenches into the earth over the years. The deep jungle of rhododendron and oak trees carries on beneath you on either side but you stay high above them with the great views that this ridge line offers until you reach High camp where you will be stopping for the night, this campsite has a very remote feel about it and is a great place to soak up the high mountain atmosphere. Overnight camp. (Meals: B,L,D)

The cloud tends to gather later in the afternoon so in order to get the best views of these beautiful mountains an early start today is the best option. You will be returning to high camp on your way back down from the base camp so anything you don’t need can be left here. The trail climbs steadily upwards this morning, with every step taking you closer to your goal of base camp with the stunning views on offer there. This sharp ridgeline affords you even more great views, with more of the Annapurna range coming into view the higher you go. Upon reaching base camp and having taken lots of pictures, it’s time to head back down the ridge line to high camp for lunch and then onto low camp for the night. As you retrace your steps it’s surprising how different thetrail looks heading the other way. This is the longest day but the early start helps to keep day feeling relaxed. Overnight camp. (Meals: B,L,D)

From Low camp you will take a new less defined trail that heads down the mountain village of Sidhing, the trail is a bit tricky in places and needs to be taken at your own speed as you make your way down. A little way off from Sidhing and the jungle opens up to reveal views down onto the local villages with their heavily terraced landscape with paddy fields filling every available space. As you reach the beautiful village you should have some time spare to take a look around Sidhing which is split into three different casts and two different religions creating a diverse village that manages to live together in harmony. Overnight camp. (Meals: B,L,D)

Today’s walk is mostly downhill and follows the Mardi River all the way to Lumre. As you head down the valley through rice paddy fields the views back up the valley towards Machhapuchare are simply stunning. This valley is alive with wildlife from colourful birds to sun bathing lizards. Upon reaching Lumre it’s time to jump into the 4wd for your two hour drive back to Pokhara, this is an interesting drive with many ford crossings and small villages on route. As you reach the main road again you are nearly back to beautiful Pokhara. You have the afternoon free in town to explore or just to relax by the hotelpool. Overnight Hotel Barahi (Meals: B)

Taking the afternoon flight to Kathmandu gives you a bit more time in Pokhara to explore before heading to the airport. After Arriving at Kathmandu you will be transferred to your hotel with the evening free. Overnight Hotel Shangri-La (Meals: B)

This is a fascinating medieval city, its streets, bazaars, temples, shrines and Buddhist stupas crowded with people of every creed, colour and race. Rickshaws, taxis and hooting motorists add to the din and create that special atmosphere that Kathmandu is so famous for. This morning there is a half-day guided walking tour. Your transport will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square with its many temples and palaces, and from here you will walk to the ‘monkey temple’ at Swayanbunath, visiting Asan Tol, Kathmandu’s busy main bazaar, and Thamel en-route. The afternoon is free to do your own sightseeing or last minute shopping. You may also wish to visit the old city of Bhaktapur. Overnight Hotel (Meals: B)

The nature of adventure travel
Every effort will be made to keep to this itinerary but we cannot guarantee that things may not change, either before you travel or while you are away.
